To celebrate those valued team members, we’re starting a new blog series: Team Spotlights! So today, we’d like our readers to meet Cory Catterson, manager of the Dolan Roofing Arizona Branch. Known by many as “Coach Catt,” Cory is a well-loved member of the Tucson community both for his roofing expertise and his 18 years spent coaching high school football. Let’s get to know Cory!

Year you started at Dolan: 2019
Year you entered the roofing industry: Birth/childhood
Prior to working at Dolan, were you in the roofing industry? If so, how has that experience helped you in your role at Dolan?
I was in the construction industry for 20 years, including several spent working alongside Johnny Dolan building custom homes in Tucson. Being involved in every aspect of the home projects has given me a unique ability to repair not just roofs, but also any damage associated with roof leaks like drywall, etc.
Favorite thing about your job:
My favorite thing about my job is identifying and solving problems. Oftentimes solving roofing issues is like putting all the pieces of a puzzle together or solving a mystery.
Favorite part of being on the Dolan team:
Seeing family more often and working together toward a common goal, much like a sports team.
Goals for the next 12 months in your role?
What do you find most rewarding about your work?
The end goal of the customer and what the end product looks like
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to spend time with my family. We have two kids in college and have been enjoying traveling. My wife and I just celebrated our 25-year wedding anniversary and celebrated our milestone birthdays in New York and Cabo. Currently, I’m also restoring some older jet skis and working on converting an old 4Runner into a rock hopper.
Favorite sports team(s):
The Phoenix Suns, they crushed it this year! I also love the Nebraska Cornhuskers
Is there a particular type of project you prefer working on? If so, why?
I prefer the projects that have a little problem-solving to them that forces me to think outside the box to get them accomplished.
Is there a project you completed with Dolan that stands out as a favorite? If so, please provide some details on the challenges you faced, the work that was completed and why you enjoyed it.
I got a call from a customer that had been abandoned by another contractor. I was able to meet all of their goals for the project and walked them through the whole process.
