Johnny has been in the roofing and construction business since his childhood, and he has a passion for helping San Antonio homeowners with all of their roofing needs.
Construction in His Blood
As a second-generation contractor, Johnny Dolan often says he has “construction in his blood.” From a young age, he grew up traveling to job sites alongside his father and brothers in the family construction business. As he got older, he began to chip in, and spent many summers as a teen waking up at 5 a.m. to hot mop roofing projects.
Eventually, the family business shifted from roofing to custom home building, and Johnny acted as his father’s right-hand man, helping to design and build custom homes in Tucson, AZ. In that time, he was able to learn many tricks of the construction and roofing trades from the highly experienced master craftsmen alongside him.
A New Focus on Storm Restoration
After completing college, Johnny entered the storm restoration business, once more focusing on roofing. He began in Phoenix, AZ, continued in Charlotte, NC, and finally traveled to San Antonio to help a family restore their home following a massive hail storm.
In San Antonio, he identified a clear need for qualified roofing contractors focused on storm restoration to help residents protect their homes from the frequent severe storms in our area. He established Dolan Roofing & Construction as a roofing and storm restoration business and has served the San Antonio community ever since.

Roofing is just part of who DRC President Johnny Dolan is. He stated, “I feel like I was raised in roofing my whole life,” starting with his father’s family business and continuing with the ongoing work of Dolan Roofing.
